Reason Group at the Parliamentary Tech Showcase 2022

On 2 August 2022, Reason Group was part of the Parliamentary Innovation Tech Showcase, hosted by the Tech Council of Australia at Parliament House.

Reason Group’s Parliamentary Innovation Tech Showcase simulation was a great success, providing attendees with the opportunity to experience how complex Australia’s import system can be.

Our team took participants through the process of importing an avocado, to experience how the innovative application of new technology is making it easier for importers to do the right thing.

Tech Showcase highlights

We are grateful to have connected with many new and familiar faces who stopped by to learn more about Reason Group and grabbed an avocado to go!

Who would have thought importing an avocado could be so much trouble!

Reason Group’s Parliamentary Innovation Tech Showcase simulation shows how complex importing can be. The simulation lets you experience how the innovative application of new technology makes it easier for everyone, whether you are an importer trying to fulfil an order, or a biosecurity officer trying to keep us safe.

This is a small but mighty example of the work we have been doing with the Department of Agriculture; showcasing how our application of supply chain data analytics and AI/ML is making government regulation easier.

Reason’s solution sets out the pathway for an integrated pre-border information system. This system is needed to deliver a safer, faster, and smarter biosecurity and imported food experience for importers and other industry participants.

With a focus on establishing a more efficient import platform and B2G information exchange with industry, we are making it easier for importers to do the right thing.
